The Varsity Boys Tennis team competed in the Michigan State Regional yesterday in Marshall and Battle Creek. The Eddies had four quarterfinal qualifiers; #1 Singles player Adam Redden defeated Coldwater 6-1, 6-0 before falling in a good battle to Parma Western 3-6, 4-6. At #2 Singles, Logan Summy defeated Parma Western 6-2, 6-0 then finished 1-6, 2-6 against St. Joe. #3 Singles player Ethan Layman drew Marshall and won the match after a gritty first set battle 7-5, 6-2. Laymen wrapped up his afternoon falling 2-6, 3-6 to Gull Lake. In the Doubles Flights, The #1 Doubles team of Brandon Van Overberghe & Keston Mcguire defeated Marshall, after overcoming a rough start in the first set, they came back strong to advance winning a 3rd set tie-break; 2-6, 6-4, 10-5 before falling to Gull Lake 1-6, 1-6.
