The varsity boys basketball team moved to 8-4 in the Wolverine Conference and 13-6 overall Tuesday night at home (44-32). It was another tremendous team defensive effort, after holding a balanced Sturgis team to 32 points, and only 2 points in the first quarter. After jumping out to a 15 point lead at the end of one, the Trojans played even to the break. Two three point baskets early in the second half kept Sturgis within reach, but the Eddie defense was relentless, limiting their opponent to one shot on nearly every possession. Led by 13 points from junior guard Blaise Crist, the Eddies never lost the initiative. Sophomore forward Reed Gates hit for 10 points, while senior guard Maverick Gates and sophomore wing Kevin Wright added 6 and 5 points. The Eddies play Friday night at home as the Vikings from Niles visit the 'Burg. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm following the varsity girls game at 5:30pm GO EDDIES!
