The varsity boys basketball team battled to a thrilling one point win over visiting Schoolcraft Tuesday night, 46-45. With 32 seconds left in the game, and down a point, junior guard Blaise Crist passed two Eagle defenders driving the left baseline and finished at the rim to give the (10-6) Eddies a one point lead. Following an Eagle time-out, an Eddies foul on defense gave the Eagles the ball out of bounds with 6.9 seconds remaining. Trying to get the ball to their 6'8" star forward Jimmy Miller, the Eagles found only suffocating defense and had to settle for a three point attempt from the corner by guard Bryce Lambe that missed just long. Miller's rebound and potential game-winning put back went in and out as the Eddies defense held firm. Edwardsburg outscored the Eagles 15-8 off of turnovers, as Blaise Crist led the way for the Eddies scoring 19 points. Maverick Gates and Michael Wright added 9 and 8 points while Liam Seiggreen chipped in 5. The Eddies host Otsego HS Friday night. Tip off time is scheduled for 7pm following the girls varsity at 5:30. Friday night is Senior night at the Burg! Bring the family out to see the players as we honor our senior Eddies!
